Rosamond

Week three at Rosamond was amazing! Thank you, FBC Bolivar, for making this week so great! Our highest number of kids was 19 on Monday. It’s so fun getting to see the kids so engaged in every station. The Bible Story station was great this week! They learned stories about Moses and the Red Sea, as well as the Ten Commandments and many more. It was so amazing to see the kids so excited to learn and talk about the Bible. Many kids kept wanting to know more and more about the Bible. Over in crafts, they were having lots of fun! The kids were able to follow up on the Bible story with a craft that went along with the story. They made bracelets, a paper representation of Moses parting the Red Sea, and drawings of their hands with each of the Commandments written on each finger. At games, they were having the best time! The kids were able to play a fun version of freeze tag and regular tag. They were able to play tag with a flag football twist, and the kids loved it! The Songs station was great this week! The team brought squeaky chickens and played a fun game with them. They also played a version of musical chairs, which the kids loved. Overall, the kids had an amazing week at Bible Club. We’re incredibly grateful to FBC Bolivar for their amazing support and for helping make this week at Rosamond one to remember!

National

N-A-T-I-O-N-A-L! We had such an amazing week full of singing and laughter that rang throughout the neighborhood. We are so grateful to Abundant Church for coming out and loving these kids and showing them God’s light. They hosted four stations where the kids got to sing and dance, make crafts, play games, and hear a Bible story. The kids at National were introduced to the mantra “I am built to believe,” which continued throughout the whole week with encouraging and uplifting stories of God’s might and love. Abundant Church came decked out in construction vests and hard hats, which the kids loved, and they even got to decorate their own hard hats to remind them of the lessons and match with the team. At the song station, both the kids and team members carried over their energy and competed in many rounds of freeze dance and hot potato. The kids had a water day at the games station to battle off the heat and close out a great week with a high of 37 kids at National.

Leahy’s

What a wonderful week at Leahy’s! This week, Faith Community brought all the fun and energy we could ask for! The Bible story centered around the life of Moses, and the theme was interwoven into each station. From a tissue paper burning bush at crafts to the Ten Commandments song at music, the team was intentional in reinforcing what the kids were learning. On Tuesday and Thursday, crafts transformed into the science station, and the kids’ minds were blown as they learned about sun dials and grew gummy bears to three times their size. Under the Bible story tree, thoughtful questions inspired meaningful conversations about applying the Bible to our everyday lives. Over at songs, I’ve never seen such a dance party! The Ten Commandments song will probably stick in our minds for the rest of the summer.Games were flexible and creative as they came up with fun activities for each age group. Overall, it was amazing to watch FaithCommunity love on these kids. It was beautiful to see some of the quieter kids begin to come out of their shells. It is sad to see this team go, but the foundation they built with the kids will remain, and I am so excited to see how the next weeks will build upon it. All glory to God!

Johnson

Week 2 of Johnson was amazing! We had so much fun serving with Chestnut Grove, who did an amazing job loving on our Bible Club kiddos! We saw a couple of new faces at the club, and a lot of returning faces from last week.

Chestnut Grove brought the hype to their song station this week! Monday and Tuesday, they brought a guitar to teach the kids some songs with. The kids enjoyed running around with ribbons, while others enjoyed shaking their maracas. But the hype about songs didn’t stop there! The rest of the week, they came up with chants that they would yell out, and see who could be the loudest. One of the most popular ones was, “We love Jesus, yes we do. We love Jesus, how about you?” And then the other side would shout it out, but even louder!

At games, the kids loved getting to play with parachutes, hula hoops, soccer, velcro toss and catch. At crafts, the kids got to take home “Jesus Loves Me” drawstring bags, a treasure jar, wind chimes, and a coloring sheet. On Wednesday, they got to eat their craft instead of taking it home. Each age group got into two teams and competed to see who could build the largest tower out of marshmallows and pretzels.

And lastly, everyone’s favorite part of the club was the science experiment performed right before dismissal. All of the kids were so excited to see the Coke and Mentos explode 10 feet into the air! There were lots of little excited screams and giggles that followed the explosion. This week at Johnson was so full and exciting, and we can’t wait to see all the ways God’s going to move next week!
